Our new rap band One Dollar Ninety Nine in the back garage and have book a gig down at the local that we played last month to a crowd of 300 people. The crowd like us so much that we where ask to play another gig other other side of town the following week. The band has now had a gross turnover of $6000 and our web site has had 75,000 hit in 30 days. A small label Sony Music wants to record us and make us into rap legends and is willing to invest $50.000 of producing our first cd. Its all moving very quickly.
Our music is original written by our lead rapper Wazza and already our music is been shared by bit torrents all around the world. I am getting hundred of emails a day from fans wanting us to tour to their location. The whole this is out of control.
Our Manager
Our manager is telling us not to sign up with Sony but to develop our own web site so we can control our music , our fans and our merchandise through social networking. Our music will be free to download and through Creative Commons License and our fans will become registered users to our site. We will offer free news and updates with lots of photo of our tours for fans to access
We can generate income by offering eStore products relating to the band create hole new wave in the music industry.
Our reaction
What give our music away why would we do that.
Manager: The answer is to stop them from stealing it. By offering the genuine product free from virus or malware from a trusted source. This will attract fans to get the genuine product from us by joining our social network. This now gives us the opportunity to get to know our fans and gauge what they want from us and how our music can serve them better. We have opportunities to maximize ticket sales on our tours and offer fee for services and merchandise though the Internet.
